Madaba Map
You can see the Dead Sea along the top of the map and Jerusalem below and to the left (the circular thing.) You can see the white columns that line the cardo. This map is made with east at the top. This is a usual method of orientation in this part of the world. Note that north is then on the left and south on the right with the sea behind.
