numbers of shoulders
I lettered in music when I was in the 8th grade. I wanted to wear my sweater because I was so proud that I had it in the 8th grade. I mean there weren't many people out there wearing a letter sweater in the 8th grade (even at Clark there weren't many who lettered in 8th grade). However, I had the big number "70" on my shoulder. I was teased some for being so young and not graduating until "70" when most of the sweaters had "67" or "68" on them. Even the kids who had "69" on them weren't teased because most people didn't look hard enough to see whether it was a 7, 8 or 9 but that "70" was very visible. My friends took to walking on that side of me so the number couldn't be seen so easily. It was that way for three, count them 3, years before there was a 71 on anyones shoulder. I still think that 70 is the best. However, that is a year to graduate not an age.
