Videos in the Classroom
LaDale mentioned the prohibition on watching Disney movies in the classroom. I believe this to be accurate when it comes to entertainment. However, I learned some interesting things from the BYU general counsel recently about the rules for media in the classroom.
If you obtained the video in a legal way, even renting it, you can show it in class if the purpose is to comment on the video and incorporate it into your lesson. The rules about copyright are much looser in a face-to-face teaching environment as a result of the TEACH act and some others.
