Tuesday
So, I know it's late, but here is Tuesday's post.
It was a very long day. The morning started out reasonably well, I got the kids up and out the door, and five minutes later they were back. Heather had a flat tire and Benjamin's bike was refusing to change gears. So we all loaded into the car and ran them to school. Then we came home and veged for about two hours and the phone rang. It was Heather's teacher. Their classroom apparently had an infanstation of ants and Heather's lunch had been invaded. Naturally, all of you who know my daughter know that she does not handle this sort of thing well. She had a breakdown and no lunch. So I had to drop practically everything and take her a new lunch. In an effort to stave off the 'my day was the worst ever' I took her a happy meal. It worked. She had a great day dispite everything. I think her teacher was thrilled.
Then we came home again and there was a message on the answering maching from Jeff telling me to 'call him now!" Naturally, I was worried about him having lost his job again, it's happened so often lately that that was automatically where my mind went. But that wasn't it. Instead what had happened was that he had gotten the offer from the place he had interviewed with last week. We are most likely going to take it. The company just feels like a better fit for Jeff. Besides, the benifits are better and start immediately and that is a big plus. It's no further away then his current job, just in a slightly different direction. It will actually end up being less hours so I am thrilled!
Then, I got a call from my friend. She finally finished editing my first chapter and I could come and pick it up! I am so excited to finally be able to do something again!
Benjamin had scouts last night, sort of. It was actually the combined activity so it was with the girls! When I went to pick him up, the one girl who I gave the book to so she could read it came up to me and gushed. She is loving it! I am thrilled. She is thirteen years old, so we'll see where the other age groups fall! I am really getting excited!
