John Aird
Just to let everyone know.
John Aird is in the hospital. Two weeks ago he started throwing up some blood and Marchelle forced him to go to the hospital. By the time they got there he was throwing up 'buckets of blood'. They immediately admitted him and starting doing tests. They thought they would find a bleeding ulcer but instead they found that his entire esophagus was covered with tumors. Luckily they were all benign but because of the bleeding they knew that they had to do surgury. The surgury lasted 8 hours and went as well as possible. The doctors told the Airds that they would have to take part of his intestine to rebuild his esophagus but it turned out that they were able to salvage enough of his esopagus that they didn't need to take his intestine. However, his stomach is now up close to his throat. It is making it hard for John to breath. He is however getting much better. He is still in the ICU so no one can see him except family. He can't yet eat anything but he can talk and the doctors were worried about that. The Doctor knew that he did some damage to his vocal cords but not how much and it has turned out to be minor. Marchelle said she didn't care if he had to whisper the rest of life if that was the worst of it. I totally understand that. I will keep you posted.
