Fashion angst

(Oh, Caren, never fear! I actually really appreciated your post about the swine flu--information is what I want, and your post had lots of it! There is also a pretty good article at CNN that answers some of my questions: Swine flu part II: What's in store in the months to come.)

Now let us turn our eyes to another problem: Fashion. I stumbled upon a website that sells vintage clothing, and spent a good 30 minutes drooling over some of the clothes. Dresses that actually have sleeves! Dresses without plunging necklines (although, to be fair, there are plenty WITH plunging necklines, and some without sleeves). Dresses that I would love to wear! (If, you know, I had $200+ to spend on a dress that has to be babied because it's over 100 years old.)

Let's take a look, shall we? (All dresses too expensive for me to contemplate, so let's ignore prices, mmkay?)

Apparently, as far as fashion goes, I was meant to live in the 30s, 40s, or early 50s. Sad, isn't it? Now let's compare them to what is being offered today:

Excuse me. I'm going to go cry in my closet now.
