Okay- so I had another post written but I deleted it and am writing this instead. My life is run by rules like those in Virginia. Seriously- as teachers we have to document and PROVE everything. We come in contact with every kind of person there is- I haven't seen everything there is in the world- but I have seen A LOT and MORE than wish. By law, I have to report certain things but (most of the time) we can't just make a call because we feel something is wrong and rightly so, we shouldn't. We have to have some kind of parameters in which to accurately document something. Those rules are there for the same reason I can't hug my students- someone, somewhere (probably more than one someone in more than one place) left a child too long and harm was done. So yes, other people, good people, honest, hard working people suffer because of rules that are put into place to protect the one.

I guess in this case, I'm for the one.
