It's a Girl!

Okay, I think I've talked to you all now, so I feel pretty safe in putting this here, you know, for posterity's sake. We are very excited to announce that Brooke LaDonna will be joining our family sometime in August! Tyler and I are both thrilled about it. It's been a little weird how closely this pregnancy has mirrored Katy's...it almost makes me hope that this will be our last girl, just in case I have to go through all of this for every girl we have. With both pregnancies I bled enough that at first I thought I was miscarrying, but it turned out to be a tear in the uterus. And with both girls, I've had a two vessel umbilical cord. I will laugh a lot if Brooke comes out with red hair!

She's very active and we got some really good pictures of her. My favorite is one of her folded completely in half, with her feet above her head. It's kind of funny. She likes to kick and punch me and at one point during the ultrasound, she actually grabbed hold of the placenta. No wonder I've been so sick! She seems very healthy at this point, with just the 2 vessel cord to worry about. She's measuring exactly where she should be, though. I'll know better what I'm going to have to do this pregnancy to make sure that she stays healthy tomorrow after my doctor's appointment. Although he won't have had a chance to look at the full report by then, I'll at least be able to talk to him about possible steps that we'll be taking (for example, more ultrasounds and NSTs as we get further along). I'll post more about it as I know. For now, though, we're just excited to know that it's Brooke's who will be joining our little family! Love you all!
