Happy Mother's Day

Dear all the women in this family,

Happy Mother's Day! Thank you so much for all your wonderful examples in how to be patient, how to be nurturing, and how to have fun in whatever we do. I love you all very much.

And especially to Mema. Thank you so much for all the sacrifices you have made for us children through the years. I never really appreciated them until I became an adult--being a grown-up is hard! And not nearly as "free" as I believed as a child. Thank you for giving up sleep, money, education, and time for us. Thank you for giving us the gospel--thank you for going to church even when you weren't going to be able to hear, much less feel, a thing. Thank you for being patient with self-centered, self-absorbed children. And thank you for being so happy and willing to do it all, that I never even knew it was a sacrifice.

I love you. Thanks for being my Mother.
