In theory, Samuel, I agree with you. I wouldn't buy this book. However, I have read all about this case, off and on for almost a year. Thier main case is that JK Rowlings didn't object to any of what these people and many others like it posted online and that is Encyclopedia is simply a compilation of what has already been posted online. JK replies that she didn't want to file a lawsuit over online forums because it is A) good publicity that costs her nothing, and B) a harmless way for fans to speculate and connect. I agree with JK all the way on all of her points. I also understand why she is hitting so hard on something that I kind of think is not worth the cost or trouble. If she lets these people get away with it, it sets the stage for many more of these type of things and that would hurt her.
By the way - yes the brownies were left in to long, they were crispy, but not altogether inetable.
