Sum-sum-summertime

I am Officially Tired of Summer. But we still have all August and most of September until it's truly autumn. So I'm collecting ideas on how to enjoy the rest of summer instead of hiding in my house and wishing it away. Any and all suggestions are welcome, whether or not they would work with my kiddos.

One I want to try when my kids are bigger is "Pool-less Marco Polo". You have an "it", who holds a running hose, eyes closed. The object is to get around the "it" and touch his/her back, without getting sprayed by the hose. The "it" periodically calls "Marco" and everyone else must call out "Polo", just like in the regular game. It sounds pretty fun.

Some other things: camping/picnicking (generally that needs the help of my husband, although we are scheduled to go camping in two weekends!), exploring the canyons (that needs my car), Salem Pond, library, Utah Lake, Spanish Fork Reservoir, etc. But my kiddos are little, and it is hard to keep them together and safe in a new, fascinating environment.

We got out the inflatable pool yesterday (I about keeled over from blowing it up), and that was fun, especially since it was overcast. Any other ideas? Help!
