Vacation Redux

So how are all your kids feeling?

Hopefully nobody got sick because of Ezra's illness. I've never seen an illness like that before--he threw up multiple times on Saturday morning, slept a while, and then was hunky-dory the rest of the time. Until we got home.

The scene: Brad is unloading the car. I'm putting things away. Ezra is lying on the floor in the living room, just hanging out. I suggest that we need to change diapers and go to bed, seeing as it is 9:30pm. Ezra wants Daddy to change him--I certainly don't object. I head downstairs while Bradley starts to change Ezra's diaper. Ezra is objecting, saying the fateful words, "I'm not feeling better!" And then he throws up. All over the living room floor.

Although I need to shampoo my living room floor now, I'm grateful he waited until we got home. It's a whole lot easier to clean my living room than my car. Ezra spent yesterday with a high fever and "not feeling good", which is different then "not feeling better". "Better" is his key word for "Get me to a bucket or sink".

His illness is part of the reason why he hated his swimming lessons yesterday (but not all the reason. Ezra is about twenty times for cautious than his sister). And when they were over he didn't want to go back. At all. So we switched things around--Mercy is going to do the first set of swimming lessons, and Ezra will do the ones scheduled for late July. And between now and then we will practice getting the water and having a good time there.

So Mercy is loving her lessons. Whew.

What is your summer shaping up to be like?
