Oh, Keryn! I'm so sorry! I can only guess the reason you want King Mendenbar's sword is because your kitchen sink is completely clogged without any hope of getting it fixed without magic! But at least you don't have the problem that Cimmorene had with plumbers not being willing to come because of the dragon living there. =) You should always look on the bright side of things. I hope that everything works out quickly and cheaply for you!
