Float trip down the Colorado

What an amazing trip this was!! We put in at the foot of the dam, and got out at Lee's Ferry, some 13 miles downriver. Incidently, Lee's Ferry is the last place to put in before the Grand Canyon, until you reach Phantom Ranch. We were able to have one whole boat to our family, and our river guide was very awesome. Mid-morning, we put in and hiked about five minutes to see some amazing petroglyphs. We saw two blue herons (quite close up) and three golden eagles (quite far away). It was a beautiful, beautiful morning, made more restful by the fact that Grandpa Ross watched our babies so we were fancy-free.
