Traffic

Traffic can be a pain in the neck, at times. As most if not all of you know, Caren and I live about an hour away from ASU campus, assuming no traffic. Even during rush hour the commute is about 1 hour 15-20 minutes for me, and that is not using the carpool lane. You all probably know that there is a lot of construction happening on a road near our house. This construction single-handedly made my compute this morning 2 1/2 hours. The first 5 minutes, usually gets me from my house to the first street light, which I might add used to be a stop sign about 2 weeks ago. Due to construction this morning, and I assume all night, the street sign was blinking, therefore acting as a 4-way stop. I assume this action was done during the night time to help the working have slow moving traffic while they are working. But they didn't turn it off when the rush of cars started to come. Now this would be fine except that the majority of the community around us has apparently discovered over the last 2 weeks that the new street light is a very fast way to get to town. The blinking lights this morning made the worst back-up I have ever seen in the few months we have lived here. I was at that one light for over an hour. On a normal morning I would be finding a parking spot on campus by then. Not this morning. What usually takes the first 5 minutes turned into an hour. WOW. If road construction didn't help make the roads better, I would try to make it illegal.
