Pregnancy and Moving

Okay, here's the low down on the major stuff in our lives. First of all, I had my first doctor's appointment last Thursday. For those of you who don't know (although, I'm pretty sure that all of you do), I thought for sure that I had miscarried over Christmas. I thought that because I had some bleeding, some cramping, and some really gross brown discharge that didn't stop. So, I was bracing myself for the worst. When we got to the doctor's office (Dr. Gordon, by the way), we actually had to wait about an hour and a half before we were seen because the other two doctors in the clinic were called away for an emergency Cesarian and Dr. Gordon had to see everybody. But we finally made it back there and one of the first things they did was do an ultrasound. I'm sure that my heart must have stopped for just a second when the picture of my baby finally came up on the screen. It's a beautiful baby and as soon as I can figure out how to post pictures on this thing, I'll get it up for all of you to see. The doctor told me that the bleeding and the discharge was because there's a small tear in the wall and it's causing some bleeding. However, if I just take it easy and rest and don't lift anything heavy for about two or three weeks, it should heal itself just like a regular cut on your skin and I should be fine. So, everything is great. He also said that the baby is measuring a little bigger than my original expected due date, so he pushed it up to July 13. I was exactly 13 weeks along on my first doctor's visit, so I was past my first trimester and I didn't even know it! Anyway, that's the exciting news about our baby.

On Friday, we (although we is a relative word, really, it was Tyler) moved all of our furniture, minus the bed, into our new apartment, with help from our ward. On Saturday, Tyler spent most of the day in our new apartment trying to get everything ready for the rest of our things. I spent the day trying to help, but mostly watching as Keryn (wonderful, wonderful Keryn) packed up our kitchen and cleaned the old apartment. She was absolutely indispensible. I honestly don't think we could have finished without her and she was even sick at the time! Anyway, by 8:00 Saturday night, all of our things were in our new apartment and we closed up our old apartment, with sad farewells to our wonderful neighbors, the Cobbs. We're here now, still in a mess and trying to make the best of it. Tyler continues to work on getting the apartment really ready for us to live here and I spend most of my time reading (because I'm not allowed to do much).
