My Today

If we're talking about what we've done today.... I had a great day, although I didn't get everything done I had hoped to. For our ward conferences this year, the stake presidency set up special chapel meetings for a half an hour up at the temple. So this morning, my friend Shauna and I drove up to Denver to be in the chapel in time for the 1:00 meeting. Our stake president, President Porter, and the temple president, President Marsh, both spoke and it was wonderful. We had so many people there was no way we would all fit into one session, so we were broken up into two different sessions. Shauna and I made it into the first session, but I was almost disappointed because President Marsh, who had to stop his remarks because of the time, mentioned he might continue for those who were still waiting. I was so involved in what he'd been saying, it was jolt switch gears. I have never been in a session before where every person was from my ward. It was quite neat. Once we returned to Colorado Springs, I had just enough time to run to the store to pick up rolls for tomorrow's monthly pot luck and then I was off to a baptism. I have just returned home and I have a frozen pizza in the oven (yes, I also bought the pizza because I knew I wouldn't have time to fix anything before the baptism and I'd done without lunch and didn't feel like creating some grand meal). All in all, it was a fantastic day. But then again, it is difficult not to have a great day when on spends it at the temple.
