RE: QOTW

My favorite children's book (at least one of them) is "Zeralda's Ogre" by Tomi Ungerer. This is an old book that I used to check out of the Charleston Heights Library (no longer a library). It is a story about an ogre who eats--yes, eats--little kids. (And I don't mean the goat kind.) You even see a picture of a child in a cage. Very un-PC, I must say. Anyway, Zeralda gets kidnapped by the ogre, but instead of being eaten, she offers to cook for the ogre. She makes the most wonderful, splendid, non-kid meals, and the ogre stops wanting to eat children and just wants to eat whatever Zeralda makes. In the end, all the children are now safe, and Zeralda--get this--marries the ogre and has a family. No, I'm not kidding.

Why did I love this book? I have no idea. I just did.
